About the Campaign
The "Yes on WC-1" campaign is a grassroots movement powered by the people who know just how vital our libraries are to the Washoe County community. From families and educators to small business owners and civic leaders, we all understand that libraries are more than just books—they're hubs for learning, technology, and connection.
For over 30 years, the continuation of this tax override has allowed our libraries to grow, adapt, and provide essential services without increasing taxes. Now, more than ever, we need to ensure that this funding remains in place to keep our libraries open on weekends, enhance technology, offer job training resources, and continue to improve community spaces.
This effort is endorsed by a wide range of local businesses, educators, civic groups, and community organizations who are committed to keeping our library services strong. Together, we can make sure our libraries continue to serve everyone—from young readers to seniors, job seekers to students.
